In 2006 one supermama, Corey Colwell-Lipson, (story here) got a brilliant idea which turned into a movement by 2010. By 2010 Corey’s idea had replaced one million pieces of candy with healthier and more sustainable treat options at events all across the U.S. Yay! Corey. It’s no wonder she is being nominated as one of the Most Awesome Mom Run Businesses of 2011 (please vote for her here).

My Mama’s Love would like to do something to say thank you to Corey, her idea, and her movement. We have comitted to donate 10% of all sales from now until October 31st to her non-profit Ecomom alliance. I challenge all other eco-friendly businesses to do something similar. Let’s stand behind this mama’s exhaustive effort to “think outside the conventional candy-box.” (her words) and raise our children to think outside it too.

If you’re having a hard time imagining an alternative to candy, let me help you. First, be sure to check out all the ideas offered on Green Halloween’s site. Second, if you want to give something that your neighborhood kids have not received before, but will love, consider our all-natural, organic, eco-friendly and eco-conscious Fixx-My-Lips. Normally I sell each container for $5.00, but in the spirit of helping spread the goodness of Green Halloween, I am taking a loss on this item when it’s purchased in bulk with the intention of handing out to trick-or-treaters. My Mama’s Love is looking for stores close to you…

My Mama’s Love is owned and operated almost entirely by one woman: Leslie McCann, a.k.a. me. While I hire out and delegate many things to other people and professionals on occasion, I am mostly doing all things by myself: research, manufacturing, labeling, packaging, shipping, shows and sales. I am overwhelmed by the amount of customers who would like to see my products in stores near them. I’d love to be able to get out and sell face-to-face to more retailers, but I simply can’t do it all. I am in the market for a broker or manufacturers rep, but while I am looking, I am going to offer an opportunity to each and every one of you. If you buy My Mama’s Love products and have a store near you which would be a good fit for them, please do contact them and mention our products to the buyer. If you are able to connect me with someone who is willing to carry our products, you will receive 10% of all sales for that store for one year. This could be as simple as passing along our business card, brochure, website, or letting the store owner know you love the products and would be willing to buy them if they brought them in. If your recommendation leads to orders you will start receiving a percentage on the orders as a thank you. Also, you’ll be able to get our products locally.

Please contact me for the paperwork I’ll need from you when you contact a store. It’s certainly possible that several customers could end up recommending us to the same store owner/buyer. If this happens, I will speak with the store owner about whom to pay the percentage to – it may end up being split between each of those who made a difference in getting us into the store.
